Stephanie Jones
Stephanie Jones grew up with dogs and cats but it wasn’t until 1999 with her first dog as an adult that she decided to pursue obedience training. She had a very high energy dog so continued obedience training hoping to even just get to “sit.” Once “sit” was accomplished, Stephanie was hooked and within a year was an assistant at Positive Dog Training and eventually became an instructor. She competes in rally and traditional obedience with her dogs as well as Lure Coursing with one of her Basenjis.
Training at PDT lead to attending dog shows and it was at one of these that she discovered a passion for small animal massage. She is now a certified small animal massage practitioner and LMP. Stephanie enjoys bringing comfort to animals in pain or even with just stiff muscles and enjoys exploring how massage can help animals feel less fearful or shy.
Stephanie currently shares her home with her husband, Basenjis, Schipperkes and a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier/Schipperke mix. Having acquired all but one of those a little bit later in their lives, she understands the challenges and joy adopting a rescue or more mature dog can bring. She also understands and enjoys working with those high energy dogs knowing that with patience and consistency that whirling dervish can be the best dog you’ve ever had.
