Corinne Lawson
Corinne Lawson has been with Positive Dog Training since 1998, first as a student, then assistant and finally instructor. She has trained and shown her own dogs in UKC obedience, AKC rally, UKC & NADAC agility, and WCFO and P2D Canine Freestyle. Corinne has earned advanced titles in all these sports and her special love and passion is with Canine Freestyle where she and her dog Genevieve are champions. She is a member of local and national freestyle and agility clubs and truly enjoys the special bond that comes from working closely with her canine partners.
Corinne has a special love for rescuing dogs from shelters and shares her home with a variety of breeds: English Shepherd, Pug, Mini American Eskimo, Aussie (passed away) and now a Border Collie-English Springer Spaniel mix. They enjoy all working in obedience, rally, agility and freestyle (yes, even the Pug!!) as well as playing with Corinne’s two cats and teenage sons. This variety of breeds has taught and continues to teach Corinne all the special little “goodies” that working with dogs of many breeds can teach you. She enjoys the constant challenges that each breed can present while training which forces her to not always train the same way but to understand what the dog is doing and why and then find a new solution. Corinne uses clicker training to train her dogs and encourages her freestyle students to also train in this method. She also enjoys using music to train rally and obedience which has a great side effect of making the class lots of fun!
She is looking forward to meeting you in class … get ready for fun and adventure!
